Matching Network

The R7000 is an expandable, seven band vertical antenna. The radiator is electrically a halfwave length on each band. The six traps control the electrical length. Your signal is applied at the base of the antenna by using a broadband matching network. Since impedance at the base is very high, a 4:1 broadband bifilar transformer is used (B). A coaxial balun (C) is used to keep RF from migrating down the coaxial line.

A - Matching capacitors.
B - Broadband matching transformer maintains low VSWR at feed point.
C - Coaxial balun is employed to keep RF off from the exterior of your feedline.
D - All stainless steel hardware.
E - Moisture release vent.
F - Feed point (SO239)
G - High strength, high power, low dielectric PC board material.
H - RF choke effectively DC grounds the radiator to help prevent static electricity from entering your shack.
I - High impact ABS enclosure.
